Leave the covering on as long as Albert advises. When you remove it, wash gently with clean hands and lukewarm water and a fragrance-free soap, then pat dry.
Wash 2–3 times a day for the first week. No soaking — no baths, pools, saunas or sea until fully healed.
Apply a thin layer of a fragrance-free aftercare balm or lotion. Thin is key — the skin needs to breathe, not drown.
It will peel and flake like sunburn. Let it. Picking or scratching pulls ink out and risks scarring and infection.
Keep it out of direct sun and wear loose clothing over the area while it heals. Sunscreen only once fully healed.
The surface heals in 2–3 weeks; deeper healing takes up to a couple of months. If it gets hot, swollen or angry, message us.
Only touch your piercing with clean hands, and only when cleaning. Twisting and turning it does more harm than good.
Clean twice a day with sterile saline solution. Soak away any crust gently — don't force or pick it off.
Pat dry with clean kitchen roll (not a towel — towels harbour bacteria and snag). No pools, baths or saunas while healing.
Avoid sleeping on a fresh piercing and keep it clear of hair, headphones, makeup and tight clothing.
Leave the original jewellery in until it's fully healed. Swapping too soon can close or irritate the channel — see us for a fitting.
Lobes a few weeks; cartilage and body piercings several months. Some swelling and redness early on is normal — pain, heat or discharge is not.
Aftercare questions, a piercing that's not settling, or jewellery that needs fitting? Don't guess — message us or pop in. Checking in is always free.
